I bet you’re wondering where that funny title comes from right?
Hopefully this post is helpful for you. It isn’t about some new real estate strategy, or what you should be doing in today’s market etc.
This is about how you can get more out of each day and be more productive than ever before.
This morning I woke up at 5:30, had a tall glass of water, then sat on my living room floor for a few minutes of quiet time. Call it meditation, reflection, whatever you wish. I found that this is a nice we to start my morning and it brings great clarity for me.
Next, my dog and I went for a brisk walk. It was still dark out of course, and there was a light rain. The perfect environment for an ex-commando. I feel right at home when things are like that.
Here’s where this gets interesting…
While most of the houses were still dark because people were still sleeping, there were a few here and there that had activity.
What kind of activity? That’s the sad part. That’s also the part that can really change things for all of us.
It wasn’t even 6 o’clock yet and I could see the reflections of TVs in people’s window as I walked down the street. For some people that’s probably the first thing they do when they wake up is grab the remote and turn on their TV.
Is there anything wrong with that? Probably not… But…
I couldn’t help but think of how much time they waste in a day. A week. A month. A year…
Just one hour each morning is 365 hours in a year. That’s actually 15.2 full days of time watching just a little bit of TV each morning.
What could they accomplish with 15.2 extra days a year?
Quiet self reflection time? Time for a walk outside in the fresh air? Some exercise? Some extra time with loved ones? There are plenty of things that they could do that would be more useful to their life I believe.
I know this post is a bit different than what you would typically see. I just wanted to share my thoughts after seeing that this morning.
Again, there’s nothing wrong with it at all if that’s what they choose to do.
What I’d like to do is challenge you to look at your typical day. Is there anything that you would like to change that could make your day, your week, your month, your life just a little bit better?
We get so tied up in the day to day activity of life that we look back after while and realize we’ve gotten so busy that we’ve neglected some of the simplest things we can do to actually make our life better, me included.
I hope this email gave you a little bit of food for thought. I know there weren’t any great real estate tips included, but hopefully a tip that will help you just the same.
Let me know your thoughts, I do read all of the comments myself.
Shortly I’ll be sharing a book that I just finished. I believe it will actually change my life for the better a little bit. It’s very powerful.
I hope you have a fantastic evening!
